Prof. Emeritus Dr. Hanspeter Neuhold

Hanspeter Neuhold has been Professor of International Law and International Relations at the University of Vienna since 1980. He was head of the Department of International Law and International Relations from 1996 to 2004. His research focuses on the political principles of international law, international security and Austrian foreign and security policy. He was/is visiting professor at Carleton University (Ottawa), Stanford University, the Universities of Leiden and Paris and at the College of Europe in Bruges. He served/serves as Vice President of the International Studies Association, the German Society of International Law and the Austrian Foreign Policy Association and is a member of the Advisory Council of the Max Planck Institute for International and Foreign Public Law in Heidelberg. From 1988 to 1996 he was director of the Austrian Institute of International  Affairs. He has directed the Master of Advanced International Studies program at the Diplomatic Academy and the University of Vienna since 1997.
