Dr. Fabian Wagner

Senior Research Scholar at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA)

Dr Fabian Wagner is Senior Research Scholar at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), Laxenburg, Austria, since 2004. His research interests include integrated assessment modeling, economics of climate change mitigation, and short-lived climate forcers. His work feeds directly into decision making processes of the European Commission and other international bodies. He has co-authored and co-edited various reports for the UN Environmental Program and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Dr Wagner has held visiting positions at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL), California, the Hamburg Institute of International Economics (HWWA) in Germany and the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies in Japan. He received a PhD in theoretical physics and two master’s degrees (mathematics; history and philosophy of science) from Cambridge University (UK).
