High decoration for MSc ETIA Faculty Member Prof. Paul H. Brunner

On April 21, 2016 Prof. Paul H. Brunner was awarded the „Große Silberne Ehrenzeichen für Verdienste um die Republik Österreich“ by Minister Dr. Reinhold Mitterlehner.

Brunner rendered outstanding services by his research work in the field of waste management and by pushing forward the enhancements of the Austrian research community.

Brunner finished his studies in Organic Chemistry at ETH Zurich in 1976, went as Postdoctoral Research Fellow to the Stanford University (USA) and joined TU Wien in 1991.
From 1992 to 2015, he was holding the Chair for Waste Management and acted as head of the Institute for Water Quality, Resources and Waste Management. He served as Dean of Academic Affairs of the Civil Engineering Department, and is member and chair person of science advisory groups of national and international research bodies. Internationally speaking he was Visiting Professor an the University of Novi Sad (Serbia) as well as as mentoring professor at Aalto University (Finland).
